1 min read

A lot of bright personalities of bodybuilding have gone over the past eleven months, the world of power sports is going through a very sad year. Ed Corney, Daryl Stafford and Paul Winter died in January, and a few months later, Kent Kune and David Dirt. A few months ago, we sadly learned about the death of Franco Colombo and hoped that the tragic report would stop in 2019. Unfortunately, fate decreed differently and yesterday, at the age of seventy-one, Yusup Wilkosz, who is rightly considered one of the legends of the golden era of bodybuilding, died. His sister Barbara informed the public through his Facebook page.

Yusup was born on November 8, 1948 in Heilbronn, Germany. At the age of about sixteen, he began weightlifting, to which he later included some bodybuilding exercises and practices as a compensatory workout. And already in the 1984 season at the main event of a professional bodybuilding show, Mr. Olympia even reached a prestigious bronze place.

In the late 1980s, Zeus, who had been a partner for Olympia champion Arnold Schwarzenegger for some time, began to suffer various injuries and was forced to leave the scene. He continued to exercise regularly, even at the age of 70. He left this world forever on November 19, 2019, and, of course, the world of bodybuilding will miss him.
