Eat the mushroom to beat the stress! What are adaptogens and what they do

What is an adaptogen?

The word “ashwagandha” and “Rhodiola”, entered the lexicon of your friends, do not apply to yoga. The names of the herbs which are attributed to the truly unique properties. They improve the immune system, increase concentration, normalize mood, and even help to cope with stress. And all thanks to a special chemical compounds in its composition. 6. Rhodiola

The roots of this plant help to maintain the balance of dopamine and serotonin, preventing “burnout”. There are unconfirmed reports about the successes in the fight against chronic fatigue.

7. Holy Basil (tulasi, Tulsi)

This plant is a relative of the usual Basil. It is rich in antioxidants, helps to cope with stress and improve mood. Experiments on mice showed a positive effect in diabetes and metabolic syndrome, but people is not verified.

Whether to take adaptogens?

Add them to food is simple: for example, to drink tea from the Holy Basil or sprinkle the meat with turmeric. The negative effects are mainly from an overdose or because of the low quality of the product itself. In any case, before taking is better to consult with your doctor or a competent nutritionist.

The effect of adaptogens is not guaranteed, so if you fear that you might hurt yourself, better not to take. But in General, the likelihood of side effects is small, and dosages of micronutrients in the adaptogens low.
